Finishing the wedding: Part 2: The Big Day

So as we left off on the last post I had a fitful nights rest the night before I got married and woke up at 5:30-6:00ish to begin the day.

I rolled out of bed feeling sluggish, and wanting to have a mind over matteress problem but knowing there was no time for that, and begrudgingly went downstairs to force myself to eat.

I got downstairs and spent time talking with Dodi and Dave my nocturnal Aunt and Uncle while I choked down a muffin and banana. I then proceeded to return to my room to ready myself.

I first had to shave my legs (which should be moot after waxing wouldn't you agree?) so that they didn't feel like the fur coat I'd been growing for a month. Then I woke up my younger sister Alise to come help me fix me hair. She was grumpy but came to help. We had a little...scuffle... we didn't agree and I ended up washing my hair and straightening it when I didn't have time and it wasn't done the way I wanted it to look. Everyone said it looked more me anyway.

My makeup artist friend Marisa Philips then came over to make my face look amazing even though it is a tough job. We got the make up done and flawless in 45 minutes. Then it was into a dress make sure I have everything for the temple and honeymoon ready and we were out the door.

We made it to the temple with plenty of time to spare got all checked in and ready for our family and friends to show up. Then we were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Temple at 10:00am by Scott T Lyman. To be totally honest I can't remember a thing the sealer said and neither can Curtis. We remember bits and pieces of things but not a lot of it afterwards everyone kept saying how beautiful it was and everything but we just smiled and nodded we don't remember.

I went back to the Brides Room to put on my beautiful gown. I was so happy to have my mother with me and able to participate in that. Then I had to wait while they checked to see if Curtis was ready and waiting. He was. They led me out of the Room and into my handsome cowboys arms. He looked stunning in his wranglers, tailed coat, specially made belt buckle, blue bowtie, and boots. He was all mine.

My guide went to grab my bouquet then we could walk out and greet everyone. We did all of our family photos and then everyone went to go get ready for the Luncheon while Curtis and I took our First Pictures as Husband and Wife. When the pictures were finished we went and got in the truck and headed to the luncheon.

We got there a little early but everything was ready shortly there after. We had rolls and cinnamon butter, bbq chicken, ribs, and crush and IBC rootbeer with pie to follow. We had place cards with space for people to write on them to give us advice. However, when we came home half of them were thrown away. We had each of the parents talk. My daddy sang our song Butterfly Kisses by: Bob Carlisle, Curtis finished by speaking for us. He cried.

We had a little while to get ready and freshened up before the pictures and reception. We took the family pictures all in the wedding attire and the bridesmaids, groomsman, and flowergirls. Then the reception started.

Stood in line for and hour and a half about greeting people who came and excitedly being reunited with family and friends. We cut the cake to Beat It by Michael Jackson. I shoved cake all over Curt's face, so he tried it back but I had all the frosting so I won that battle. :) Next I danced with my Daddy to our song Butterfly Kisses, Curt started dancing with his Mom half way through. Then we had our first dance as Husband and Wife to When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss. We tossed the bouquet to All The Single Ladies by Beyonce and did the Garter Toss (I can't remember what song it was to) Curtis was a good boy and retrieved it with his teeth. ;)Which I had asked him to do previously as his first rebelous act to his mother haha. We mingled and talked with our guests, tried to eat but didn't, tried to sit but couldn't, and then tried to leave on time but didn't. We wanted to leave and be gone by 9 but we didn't leave till 9:30 or 10 but that's ok.

We arrived at the Hines Mansion where we spent our first night as husband and wife in the Butch Cassidy themed room to go along with our western themed wedding.

Honeymoon continued in Part 3: The Honeymoon.
