I am really mad at myself for not posting about Lizzi's first birthday or her last monthly update or anything since. Things have been so crazy busy but that is not enough of an excuse, I will have to get caught up because we need those memories too. But for now! This post is about our newest addition!
Little Miss McKenna Celeste Newman made an unexpected arrival on August 14th at 11:00pm she came in weighing 7 pounds and measuring 19.5 inches long. She has a very Larsen look to her, a little bit of a darker tone to her skin and lots of DARK hair. She is not the blondie that Lizzi always has been. I will post the birth story in another post for those that do not want to read all the yucky details but for this post I will say that we were at a check up appointment the doctor didn't like the way McKenna's heart rate looked when I had little contractions and she immediately sent us upstairs to be induced. 7 hours later McKenna was here! I was able to go completely unmedicated (besides the pictocin to start me) and she and I are both healthy and doing well.
Lizzi isn't so sure on having a baby yet, she is interested but also does not like sharing mommy, or daddy in particular. She is learning she needs to be soft with baby because she is fragile (not an easy concept for a 15 month old to understand). Lizzi is better now that we are able to be home with her but she will need a little longer to adjust completely.
Curtis gets several days off of work to be home with us which I am loving and don't want him to go back because I am honestly terrified of being a mom of two and juggling these girls on my own. We will make it I just worry too much.
That is all that I can think of for now so I will post a few pictures and get started on the birth story post for those few that want to hear about it.
