I am 20 years old, I turned 20 on the 16th of August :) I am an LDS Young Single Adult who loves the gospel, life, and my Boyfriend :) I am a Cosmetologist (if you are interested in my Career side of life feel free to check out my other Blog Dath Aillidh- Color Beautiful) and I love what I do :) I come from a big family whom I love very much. It consists of my Father Kyle, Mother Natalie, Older Brother Joshua 21, Me 20, My younger Sister Alise 17, My younger Brother Joseph (Michael) 15, My younger Brother Terrence Jacob (T.J.) 13, and the Baby Sister Aimee 6 nearly 7. I also have an 11 year old blind Jack Russell Terrier Jackie :)
Joshua is currently serving in Seoul, South Korea on his mission, he will return with honor on October 1, 2010. Alise is obsessed with Volleyball and is going to be a senior at American Fork High School this fall. Michael is unfortunately quite humorous and it makes it nearly impossible to stay or get mad at him. T.J. is a little stud and he's going to be a heart breaker, he has a very promising career in football he is a daredevil and hardly anything scares him. Aimee is a doll and a great joy to our family she was a definite surprise but we can't imagine life without her smart little remarks and quick sense of humor. Jackie is getting old and doesn't do much besides sleep and try to run away, which as of late she has become quite successful at.
My favorite color is Lime Green and I love to dance, act, sing, be crazy with my Man and do new things with him, and of course do hair :D My favorite animals are dogs, tigers, frogs, and horses.
I was born and raised in the hood West Valley City, Utah but I currently live in Highland, Utah. I attended and graduated Hunter High School, then attended a semester at SLCC switched my major and attended and graduated Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design in Orem. We moved to our new house July 1, 2009, so we have lived in house for over a year now. We love our new wards and neighbors we do miss our old neighbors dearly. We enjoy this new chapter in our lives.
I do have a boyfriend Curtis Newman (he prefers to be called Curt I call him the Man or my Handsome Man) who means the world to me and is the best thing that has ever happened to me I care for him a great deal. We spend every moment possible together. Our story is pretty funny... We met in high school, he was on the stage crew and I was on the dance company, we met my junior his senior year in high school just after my wrestler/baseball player/football playing jock boyfriend dumped me because he says I was too busy for him. It was the week before concert and we went on a few dates for about a week then I got scared and pushed him away he went on with life, served a mission in Ireland (only my favorite place on Earth) came home December of 2009. He tried to find me once he came home but I had another boyfriend and I was stuck in a bad place in my life before I found Christ and I thought "I can't handle this crazy RM I don't need someone pushing their beliefs on me." So I ran away again I thought I pushed him away for good. I was happy at first then I was sad and felt bad but what's done is done and I thought I'd never hear from him again. I had a life changing experience and I found Christ as my life was changing for the better he texted me out of no where I thought he was the old jock boyfriend of mine. Turns out it wasn't he said we should go on another date. I was scared because I had pushed him away twice before and I thought he'd hate me. I agreed and my mom suggested inviting him over for our Memorial Day BBQ with my crazy Aunt Dodi and Uncle Dave from Grantsville and my Aunt Shirley and Uncle John along with cousin Ashley Kayleen and her Daughter Katelyn from Eagle Mountain. I didn't think that was such a good idea but then again if things got weird I had family around to distract me. That was not the case. We clicked as soon as I opened the door to say Hello :) We hit things off right away and have texted non-stop and spend as much time as possible together. We are basically inseparable :) I love him a lot and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I look back and my life and wonder how different my life would be if I hadn't found Christ and changed my life and if Curt hadn't given me a Third chance :P It makes me sick to think of my life without him and I hope I never have to. Our second date was the Saturday after he came over on memorial day, we went to dinner at Chili's and then we went to the Herriman Rodeo :) We got lost on the way and it was hilarious ;) Our next date was the following Friday we went 4 wheeling (in the rain mind you) with his Cousin Rico and his best friend Kevin, then went back to his house and played games and had home-made Ice-cream with his nephew Brad and niece-in-law Sam (who are roughly our same age weird I know). Then I didn't get to see him till the next Wednesday, we went to the Strawberry days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove with his friends Luke and Kevin :) our next date was the next Saturday I met his siblings, their spouses, and their children :) The next Saturday he came to my house for a BBQ for the 4th of July and then on Monday we had a BBQ at his house with his family :) I saw him on Friday for his step-mom's birthday and I cut his hair for the first time... :( my guard fell off my clippers and I cut a hole in his head :( EMBARRASSING :( We went boating the next day at Rockport with his Dad Milt, Step-mom Trudy, Brother Joey, Joey's wife Leslie, Nephew Brad, Niece-in-law Sam, friends Chris and Luke. It was all fun and games till after we ate dinner and we had an accident, the boys were on the water weenie and Milt was driving and we knocked the boys off for about the 4th or 5th time, we were all laughing till Chris yelled that Curt was bleeding. He was bleeding from his left eyebrow and his nose was gushing blood. He and Joey climbed into the boat and Joey felt Curt's nose and it was CROOKED (which is a big deal because Curt has/had a perfectly straight nose)!!! Joey said oh ya your nose is broken we got to go. I helped Curt out of his life jacket got him propped up and got ice for his nose and eye. He asked for Tylenol, luckily Sam had some with her and she gave him some. As soon as we got the boat up on the truck, Curt asked Joey for a blessing (We were so lucky to have someone with the Preisthood with us) after the blessing his nephew Brad went and got their car so Brad, Sam, and I could get Curt to the IMC in Murray. On our way there, however, Curt got nauseous and we had to pull over 2 times so he could barf out of the car door, we decided to stop in park City, because it was closer, first so they could stabilize him to get him to IMC. They took him back and give a bunch of scans and were checking his eyes to make sure everything was ok. The rest of the crew showed up after a while and we waited and the doctor finally came and told us he has a broken nose is 3 places and he also has an orbital fracture which meant he had shattered his whole left eye socket... he had about 15 fractures above his left eye. He also broke his blood vessels in his left eye so his whole eye was blood red for a month. They got him to IMC by ambulance where is mom met us, he was supposed to meet with a plastic surgeon the next morning so I went home and got home by 2 or 3 am... I finally had a chance to break down and I cried the whole way home I was tired, stressed, and sick of being brave for Curt. I cried myself to sleep that night. He got sent home Sunday afternoon the surgeon said he wouldn't know anything till his swelling went down... so I went up after church and saw him for a little bit poor kid He was so beat up :( I also got to go up and see him Tuesday here's what his face looked like in the hospital and on Tuesday.
He was pretty bad :( He called to make an appointment with the surgeon on Tuesday, he referred him to a different surgeon so he made the appointment for Thursday. He went and it was bad news :( He could have surgery but they would have to cut him open from ear to ear and he'd be numb 2" behind each ear for the rest of his life, or they could just fix his nose but the would most likely bump the eyebrow bones making it worse, or just heal himself. He chose to just heal himself, which my daddy didn't think was smart he said he should get another opinion just to see but he is all healed up and unless you knew he was in an accident you can't tell :) He came to my house for Sunday, we went to my singles ward, talked and walked the temple grounds, and then had dinner with my family. He is so cute with my siblings he doesn't mind us hanging with them or playing with them he just acts like a kid with them it's adorable :D Here's us at the Temple
The day before I went back to my roots we went to the days of 47 rodeo with some friends it was great :)
Then I went back to my roots.. good ol' Ramah, New Mexico, for the 24th and I didn't get to see him till the next Tuesday when we went to dinner with Tom Henry the coolest Irish Man in the world :) and his Mission comps Cameron and Brock, and Cameron's girlfriend Ari :) She's a sweetie :) We went to dinner at Olive Garden then they came over to my house and we played Apples to Apples :) Good times :) Then on Thursday I went with him to pick up his mom from Girls Camp we talked a lot and had a great drive :) Then on Sunday we went up to Layton for his nieces baby blessing :) He asked if we could just run away to Vegas that night and I said yes lets go :D but my mom didn't think that was funny :P Then that Saturday we had a big group date night with my beautiful Cousins Keri and Shelbi, Keri's boyfriend Cameron, I brought my friend Donavan for Shelbi since her boyfriend is in Ramah still, and of course Curt and me (Alise and Jaxson ditched us). We played games and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows yum :) and my amazing man cooked Peach Cobbler Dutch Oven he's quite the chef :) Then on Sunday we went to Jaxson's brother Wayland's homecoming and left right after to get to Provo for Curt's mission presidents homecoming with Cameron and Ari. They are amazing people and Curt saw a lot of old comps and friends :) it was fun :) Then we had a talk date on Wednesday and he is the greatest guy in the world I am so lucky to have an understanding, Christ-like man in my life. Then on Friday he came to my cousin Christopher's College graduation party to meet some more family and after we went back to my house and just talked with my parents. Then on Saturday we went to a Rodeo again (yes we are rednecks thanks ^_^ ) we had dinner with his sister Connie and brother-in-law Brad and their girls Brooke and Kate :) Kate is my new best friend I love that cute thing :) Then my Birthday was Monday, I spent Sunday night with my family, we had lasagna with extra ricotta cheese (my favorite ^_^) then we had ice cream/sundaes yum and watched what about bob? So Monday I wasn't planning on doing anything just watching a movie or something. I had some friends come into my work and we had a scalp massage party and they went to FHE and said I should come but I told them no it's ok so they said they'd come over after they ate and we'd watch Ever After ^_^ but shortly after they left the Man called me and was talking to me then said his mom was calling and he'd call me back just then my salon door opened and in walks the Man. He came to come surprise me for my birthday :D so I cut his hair (his mother said he needed one :P) then we went to Dinner at the Texas Roadhouse went back to my house and had dessert with my family :) HE HOMEMADE 2 CHEESECAKES FOR ME!!! One was Blueberry and one was Cherry :) He's awesome and he bought me a new book called A Light on Fire Island I read it by Thursday :) GREAT BOOK, a mystery, love, with just a touch of the gospel I recommend it :) He's such an amazing guy I am so lucky to have him in my life I dunno where I'd be without him :)
Wednesday we went and did baptisms for the dead at the Timp Temple :) He got to confirm and baptize me, what an amazing experience. :) I'm so lucky to be dating a worthy priesthood holder :) We sat in the car and talked with my friend Wendy for almost an hour before we went in and when she left we were going to go park somewhere else and tried to start the car and ... it wouldn't start haha I have never killed my battery before hahaha way to go Curt :P So we left it across the street and just walked to the temple went inside and did the confirmations and baptisms, changed then came back out hoping the car would start if not haha we didn't know what we were going to do. As we are walking to the car I see a familiar side ponytail at the Amphitheater across the street from the temple and I get closer... yes... yes indeed it is Alise my sistah haha :D we embrace then I tell her we hope that the car will start we killed it before we went in and one of the girls said we just came from the the temple we will be blessed :) so we tried to start it... NOTHING! So we ask her leader if she wouldn't mind jumping our car luckily thanks to my Daddy we had jumper cables in my trunk. We jumped the car then we were on our merry way :) We went back to my house and my friends, that were going to come over on Monday, came over and we watched Ever After because my friend Melissa hadn't seen it :O that's a crime I believe... Curt had to leave at 10:30 though so he didn't get to finish it with us but he had work early in the morning so I understand :P haha Then the next day I have a friend that does photography and I set up with her to do a photo shoot for Alise's Senior Pictures (I'll post them as soon as we get some :)) while we were there I get a surprise visit from the Man :) He came and laughed at us and made comments about Eva and pictures I was happy to see him though :) This afternoon we are going on a double date with the Man's old English companion Peter, we hooked him up with my awesomely amazing girlfriend Brittany :D We are going to go to a park and eating Ice Cream afterward. I'll post pictures next post :)
I am currently working at Glitz'd Salon in American Fork, things are slow because we are new but we are accepting new clients, if you are interested just call and set up an appointment with me (801)-763-0625 (that's our salons number) or my cell number (801)-889-6592 I am still living at home with my parents (its cheaper that way) I am in a singles ward and I love it :) we are the coolest ward in the world :) My mom says they are going to think that I am going inactive because I haven't been for a few weeks but it's because I have been busy with... other things ;) I went to the singles ward on the 15th though. Finally... ;) That is all for this post that has taken me nearly 20 days to complete haha more to come :)
