Finishing the wedding: Part 2: The Big Day

So as we left off on the last post I had a fitful nights rest the night before I got married and woke up at 5:30-6:00ish to begin the day.

I rolled out of bed feeling sluggish, and wanting to have a mind over matteress problem but knowing there was no time for that, and begrudgingly went downstairs to force myself to eat.

I got downstairs and spent time talking with Dodi and Dave my nocturnal Aunt and Uncle while I choked down a muffin and banana. I then proceeded to return to my room to ready myself.

I first had to shave my legs (which should be moot after waxing wouldn't you agree?) so that they didn't feel like the fur coat I'd been growing for a month. Then I woke up my younger sister Alise to come help me fix me hair. She was grumpy but came to help. We had a little...scuffle... we didn't agree and I ended up washing my hair and straightening it when I didn't have time and it wasn't done the way I wanted it to look. Everyone said it looked more me anyway.

My makeup artist friend Marisa Philips then came over to make my face look amazing even though it is a tough job. We got the make up done and flawless in 45 minutes. Then it was into a dress make sure I have everything for the temple and honeymoon ready and we were out the door.

We made it to the temple with plenty of time to spare got all checked in and ready for our family and friends to show up. Then we were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Temple at 10:00am by Scott T Lyman. To be totally honest I can't remember a thing the sealer said and neither can Curtis. We remember bits and pieces of things but not a lot of it afterwards everyone kept saying how beautiful it was and everything but we just smiled and nodded we don't remember.

I went back to the Brides Room to put on my beautiful gown. I was so happy to have my mother with me and able to participate in that. Then I had to wait while they checked to see if Curtis was ready and waiting. He was. They led me out of the Room and into my handsome cowboys arms. He looked stunning in his wranglers, tailed coat, specially made belt buckle, blue bowtie, and boots. He was all mine.

My guide went to grab my bouquet then we could walk out and greet everyone. We did all of our family photos and then everyone went to go get ready for the Luncheon while Curtis and I took our First Pictures as Husband and Wife. When the pictures were finished we went and got in the truck and headed to the luncheon.

We got there a little early but everything was ready shortly there after. We had rolls and cinnamon butter, bbq chicken, ribs, and crush and IBC rootbeer with pie to follow. We had place cards with space for people to write on them to give us advice. However, when we came home half of them were thrown away. We had each of the parents talk. My daddy sang our song Butterfly Kisses by: Bob Carlisle, Curtis finished by speaking for us. He cried.

We had a little while to get ready and freshened up before the pictures and reception. We took the family pictures all in the wedding attire and the bridesmaids, groomsman, and flowergirls. Then the reception started.

Stood in line for and hour and a half about greeting people who came and excitedly being reunited with family and friends. We cut the cake to Beat It by Michael Jackson. I shoved cake all over Curt's face, so he tried it back but I had all the frosting so I won that battle. :) Next I danced with my Daddy to our song Butterfly Kisses, Curt started dancing with his Mom half way through. Then we had our first dance as Husband and Wife to When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss. We tossed the bouquet to All The Single Ladies by Beyonce and did the Garter Toss (I can't remember what song it was to) Curtis was a good boy and retrieved it with his teeth. ;)Which I had asked him to do previously as his first rebelous act to his mother haha. We mingled and talked with our guests, tried to eat but didn't, tried to sit but couldn't, and then tried to leave on time but didn't. We wanted to leave and be gone by 9 but we didn't leave till 9:30 or 10 but that's ok.

We arrived at the Hines Mansion where we spent our first night as husband and wife in the Butch Cassidy themed room to go along with our western themed wedding.

Honeymoon continued in Part 3: The Honeymoon.

Finishing the wedding: Part 1: Endowments

Hello All,

Yes I have my life back and in order so I can finally post again. :) I will finally let all of you know what went on in our last two days :)

So as you can see this is titled Endowments. I recieved my endowments and yes I know I am terrible I don't have any pictures :( My husband and I are not good about taking pictures unless the camara is in our hands at all times. Which of course we didn't that night.

The Endowment session was on March 3rd, 2011 at 6:00pm in the Salt Lake Temple. My first time at the Temple EVER and I did a live session. But it was amazing :D I am so glad I did it that way. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I have never felt as happy as I did that day. (and of course the next ;))

After the endowment was over went straight to the church where our reception would be the next day to set up for the luncheon and reception. It took FOREVER and didn't exactly "go as planned" you could say. We left by 10 or 11 that night.

I had my cousins Keri and Shelbi spend the night with my sister Alise and me. Our last single Mount Rushmore night. We went to bed at about 1ish which wasn' t to bad considering. Everyone was asleep within minutes. Not me though. I laid in bed till like 2:30 almost 3:00 I was so tired that I couldn't sleep. Some teased me about nerves some teased me about excitment but really I was too tired to sleep. I wanted to sleep so bad that my body kept making it out of reach just to torment me I am sure.

Then once I was finally in dreamland I couldn't stay there I had a very fitful sleep and I got up at 5:30-6:00ish to get ready. Then began the wedding day.

12 days of Christmas from my Love

I got a surprise one night.

I had had a long weekend with Curt in Vegas for NFR with his mom. He came home late on Sunday night. I had a long day at work and I wasn't expecting to see Curt. For family night we were playing Life. Randomly my mom freaked out and pulled me upstairs shut her door and asked where we were with the wedding ...... what? I was so confused I had no idea what she was talking about then I pulled out a couple of answers I could think of and then she said ok just wondering and we went back downstairs. I was walking into the kitchen and around the corner ... there was my handsome man :D he surprised me. Later after he left I went to go to bed and found This on my pillow.
These are marshmallows rolled in caramel then rice krispies :D yum

A few engagements :)

On December 4th Curt and I had our engagement pictures taken. DLW Photography took them for us. We had 3 outfit changes. We did a churchy formal one (just for his mom), a casual one where he wore a white sweater shirt and jeans and I had on a white long sleeve shirt with a puffy furry brown vest and furry brown boots over my jeans, and last (which I am convinced is Curts favorite) we took western ones with our wranglers, button-up shirts, boots, and of course his hat. :)

We had them taken up Provo Canyon in the city of Wallsburg. What a beautiful country town. We had such a great two hours with our photographers, they do amazing work and we are so excited to get the rest of our pictures, I posted the 6 that they have done so far. Hopefully we will get the remainder on Saturday :)

Dip. That everyone thinks it soo cute well for your information this wasn't set he was TRYING to dump me in the water. :P

Casual. This one is my absolute favorite :D

From the back shot. Look at the smile and that RING wooo.

Formal for his mom.
We have 77 days left until our wedding (but who's counting right?) and we cannot wait we are soooo excited. :) The days finally seem to be going by much quicker with the holidays being near, which helps. To make it seem shorter I tell myself that there is only 11 Sundays left I dunno why but it seems to make it seem closer. ^_^ Strange I know. But whatever works right? :D I think so.

Kids say the darndest things No. 2

I have the cutest little sister in the world.

I came home from work one day and she was excited to see me as usual. So we cuddled up on the couch together and started talking with each other.
So I asked her if she like Curt, she replied that she did she liked him a lot. So I asked if she was happy that I am marrying him, she said she's very happy. So I asked if she was happy he was going to be her brother. She looked at me very confused so I said you know that when we get married that will make him your brother-in-law. She got a super happy look on her face and exclaimed, *gasp* then you'll be his sister :D

hahahahahahahahaha I tried so hard not to laugh at her so instead I said ya only not quite I'll be his wife but you'll be his sister.

Try explaining that concept to a 7 year old. She'll be his sister and he'll be her brother why won't I be his sister too... It makes sense right??? haha :)
I love my little sister :) I am going to miss her like crazy when I get married. She has already tried to get our mom to let her come stay with me next Christmas and Halloween so we can be together :) she's adorable

Yay for little sisters ^_^

Kids say the darndest things No. 1

The joys of having a little one roaming around the house, with her cute little child comments. Let me explain...

Sunday after church I was lying on the bed admiring my sparkling ring in the afternoon sunshine. When in walks my 7 year old munchkin sister. She plops down beside me and intently stares at me till I decide to pull my eyes away from my sparkles to look at her.
She asks "Aerika? Why do you always wear that ring Curt gave you?"
I answered "Well it's my engagement ring it means we're getting married."
Munchkin: "I already knew you were getting married but tell me why you always wear that ring."
Me: "It tells everyone that I am getting married and that I am off limits and I won't date anyone else. It is a symbol of Curt's love for me."
Munchkin: "But you don't wear it when you're at work..."
Me: "No, I don't because I don't want anything to happen to it or for it to get dirty."
Munchkin: with apparent concern on her face  "Well does your boss know you're getting married"
Me: "I am the boss. But I work with another boy in the morning."
Munchkin: *gasps* "Does he know you're getting married?"
Me: "Yes he does and he has a girlfriend so its ok."
Munchkin: "What about the owner? Does he know you're getting married?"
Me: "Yes he does and he is married too."
Munchkin: obviously satisfied leans back on me "Oh good because Curt would be very sad if anyone didn't know he loved you and you were engaged and getting married in the temple and they tried to take you. But that won't happen."

She smiles,  pats my arm, hugs me and leaves my room.

Out of the mouths of babes. I love my little munchkin sister. She says the funniest things and I am so glad that she is here and chose to be in our family never a dull moment with her around ;) I love her

ENGAGED!!!... Say what???

Yes it is true :) I am engaged!!! :) I got proposed to October 1st, 2010 :)

First off it was a big day anyway... My Oldest Brother Joshua came home from his 2 year mission South Korea :) That morning we went to the Salt Lake Airport to pick him up. Aunt Dee Dee, Aunt Shirley, Uncle John, Kayleen, Katlyn, his old roommate Brett, and our whole Family :) (including my now fiance ;))

His flight got in at 11:10 but we didn't get to see him till 12:00 roughly because of customs and everything he had to go through to get his baggage and stuff :)

We were all so excited to have him home :D We stopped at Papa's to get pizza for lunch :) We talked for hours and heard lots of stories :) Joshua powned Dad and T.J. in Ping Pong :) Then Joshua had a Missionary Reunion that night so my parents took him to it.

While they were gone Curt came and we went for a Picnic. We went and got Olive Garden To Go and went the the Amphitheater across from the Mount Timpanogos Temple. We ate and talked and then he said it was getting late and if we waited to much longer they'd close visiting hours to go see Leslie and Joey's new baby. So we got up to leave and he hugged me and walked me backwards to the trees behind us so that we were hidden from the other couples walking around. He asked about my last name and how I'd like to be Newman and I said "No thanks I'd rather stay a girl." He said "How about a New-wo-Man?" and I said "Well that won't work your last name is NewMan not New-wo-Man." He said "We'll work something out." Got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so terribly confused I couldn't figure out what he was doing. Then I realized, only one problem he had a hold of my right hand. So I pointed it out by saying you have the wrong hand. So he quickly switched hands and I said yes. We then went and saw our newest nephew, and showed the ring to his mom, sister-in-law, and brother. Then we went for ice cream with his Dad and Step-mom. Then we went back to my house to show my family. Long day :P But sooooooo Great!!!

So I am soon to be Mrs. Aerika Celeste Larsen Newman. :) On March 4th, 2011 in Mount Timpanogos Temple to be sealed for time and all eternity :) I'm sooooooooooooo incredibly happy words cannot describe the Love I feel for my Handsome Man :)
